SUNNY STUDIO STAMPS PROJECTS

For my blog post today, I would like to share two cards I made with some very cute stamp sets I recently ordered from Sunny Studio Stamps. I was lucky enough to win a Blog Post Giveaway and was so excited to be able to get these stamp sets together with a die set I have been eyeing for a little while now.

The stamp sets I used are called Heartfelt Wishes and Tropical Paradise.

I have been wanting to get some flamingo stamps for a while now, so this set was perfect. I love the summery images in this set and creating this card makes me look forward to summer coming later in the year here in Australia as we shiver through the cold winter.

I began by stamping the flamingos with Versafine onyx black ink, onto watercolour paper, heat embossing them with SImon Says Stamp clear embossing powder and then colouring them with Zig Real Brush Markers (light carmine, yellow and orange} diluting the colour with a water brush. I then fussy cut them out.

Next step was to create the watercolour background piece. I 'smooshed" some Distress Inks onto my craft mat, spritzed water to create the soft colours above, and lightly pressed the watercolour paper into the inks. I love the beautiful result. I set this aside to dry until I was ready to assemble my card.

I thought it would be fun to incorporate a shaker element on this card so I created this cute little shaker using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle Dies. I stamped the coconut cocktail on the background circle, coloured the image with Zig Real Brush Markers and then assembled the shaker using double layer of thick foam tape. As this is such a small shaker, I used Diamond Dust in the shaker rather than sequins otherwise you would not be able to see the coconut image.

To assembe my card, I attached the watercolour background piece to my card front. Then die cut a sun image using MFT Sunshine die (I think its now retired), and flowers from the mini flower die which was included as a freebie gift with my order. So sweet of Mendi, owner of Sunny Studio Stamps. Finally, I heat embossed the sentiments from the Heartfelt Wishes set using Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder and Versamark ink pad .

This is the second card I created with the same two stamp sets. I love the summery colours and vibe on this card.

I began by covering the front of my blank card with paper from my stash. I thought the confetti pattern was fun for this project. I then cut a piece of white cardstock using the Sunny Studios Stamps Fishtail Banner II dies. I love the scalloped edge this created.

I went ahead and stamped the cocktail images using Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp clear embossing powder. Although its not necessary to heat emboss, I prefer to have the dark glossy image to colour in. I created a mask for the tall glass and slightly overlapped the stamping of the coconut.

Next I went ahead and coloured the cocktails using copic markers then applied Distress Inks all around the images blending the colours together.

For the sentiment, I created a smaller banner and heat embossed the words followed by Distress Ink blending, as before.

Last step was to assemble the banners on the card front. I applied some clear Wink of Stella on the tall glass although it doesn't really show up in the photo.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my projects!
