OCTOBER FARM FRESH CHALLENGE: MONOCHROMATIC
Hello, back today with my entry for the October challenge over at The Greeting Farm . The theme this month is Monochromatic and this is my card project I will be submitting.

I used a super sweet stamp and die set from The Greeting Farm called Let's Mingle. These little critters are so cute!

As I was planning to water colour these images with Distress Inks, I stamped them on some water colour paper and heat embossed them using Versafine onyx black ink and clear embossing powder. This eliminates the ink smudging and running when using water.

Here are my critters all coloured and die cut. I used a variety of Distress Inks in shades of green and aqua to keep with the monochromatic theme.

The next step is to create the shaker element . I cut one frame from white card stock and two from craft foam. I have been using this method lately for making shaker cards which I find a lot easier to create than using lots of double sided tape. i also needed to cut a circle from acetate.

I prepared the background piece of the shaker by applying Candied Apple Distress Ink and misting with water then set aside to dry. Next I created the shaker window by layering and applying glue to the two foam layers first, followed by the acetate circle then the card stock layer.

I filled the shaker with green and white sequins and added the tiny present and cheese images I stamped earlier. After attaching the red background piece it was ready to attach to the front of my card. I used a piece of Fog Grey card stock (Simon Says Stamp) on the front of a white card front to match the colour theme then heat embossed the sentiment "Jingle all the way" from a My Favourite Things stamp set with the same name.

Once the critters were glued down with double sided tape, my card was complete!
Thanks for dropping by. Hope you liked my project for today.
