SCRAP IT WITH ATTITUDE - October 2017 challenge
Welcome back. Something different in this blog post. Entering a scrapbook layout of a photo from my daughter, Cara, 21st birthday in the above FB online challenge. Although I have been a cardmaker for many years, I slowly ventured into scrapbooking and now have been enjoying both crafts for a long time. Here is the layout I will be submitting:
and this is the Challenge sketch:
Four elements that must be included in the project are: embossing, glitter, journaling and a torn edge. Otherwise, the sketch can be interpreted whichever way you like.
Papers I used for my layout are all from Kaisercraft starting with the base paper - True Love collection - My Darling. Then I used a sheet of paper from the Cottage Rose collection - Weatherboard. I only used two panels from this paper. I tore the edges and inked them with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. After attaching these strips to the base paper I mounted my photo on a scrap piece of pink patterned paper and also tore around the edges and inked them also with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. Once the photo was affixed to the layout, I applied some Wendy Vecchi embossing paste with a TCW stencil called MiniHalftone Borders. I only wanted a subtle touch of embossing on the layout.
I used doily and butterfly embellishments from Kaisercraft P.S. I Love You collectables.
For the glitter element, I painted some chipboard butterflies from Scrapmatts with Nuvo Glimmer Paste - Pink Opal. I stuck these to the layout and added some pretty flowers from my stash. To finish off, I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops - Sherbet Summer for a little bit more glitter and finally added a small journalling tag.
Thanks for visiting. See you next time!
