SCRAP IT WITH ATTITUDE - JULY 2018 CHALLENGE
Today I decided to enter this Challenge as I really liked the pretty colour combo of the colour board :
and this is the sketch to follow:
This is my take and entry for this Challenge:
For my background I used 4 shades of Gelato markers, rubbing a little colour onto a white card stock background sheet and spraying with water, smudging the colour with my fingertips. Unfortunately using water on card stock usually results in the paper warping but that can be fixed later on in the process.
After drying this with my heat gun, I choose some scraps of paper from Cocoa Vanilla Bohemian Dream 6 x 6" paper pad and adhered these over the Gelato background.
I chose a photo of my daughter, Cara, and I at a family dinner to celebrate my birthday earlier this year. This photo was mounted on a pretty floral paper also from the Bohemian Dream paper pad and adhered to the background paper using double sided foam tape to allow for embellishments to be added around the page. Using Altenew Golden Garden stamps and Stampin Up Crisp Cantaloupe ink pad, I stamped the floral images along the top and bottom of the layout.
I pulled out some mini doilies from my stash together with embellishments from various Cocoa Vanilla ranges to complete my layout. (flowers - Bohemian Dream vellum accents, butterlies - Bohemian Dream ephemera pack, chipboard stickers - Wild at Heart, wooden title - Love Always). I felt that the Cocoa Vanilla papers and embellishments complimented not just the photo but also the colour board.
Last but not least, I added some journaling which is a must for this Challenge then after tearing the edges for some extra interest, I attached the layout using double sided foam tape to a piece of hot pink card stock sheet. This assisted in smoothing out the warping of the white background.
Thanks for visiting......until next time!
