WHERE CREATIVITY MEETS C9 - #23
The theme for this challenge is Mixed Media so here is my entry for the challenge.
To create my background I smooshed Fossilized Amber Distress Ink Oxide onto my craft mat, spritzing with water and used a piece of water colour paper to pick up the colour. After completely drying the paper I repeated the smooshing process with Candied Apple Distress Ink Oxide and this time lightly tapping the paper in the watery ink colour. After completely drying this layer, I applied some Heidi Swapp Teal Metallic Texture Paste over the water coloured background using a starburst stencil from my stash. This texture paste is quick drying and perfect for all projects.
For the image I used Concord & 9th Hi There Bear stamp set. I love this set, it has so many cute images to mix and match. I stamped two different bears as I wasn't sure which one I wanted to use for this project. Both bears outlines were stamped with Versafine onyx black ink pad and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink pad for the matching body layering stamp. Both the balloon and flowers were stamped using Candied Apple Distress Ink.
As I don't have the matching dies, I fussy cut both images.
To complete the card, I heat embossed a sentiment from Concord & 9th Eat Cake stamp set and decided to use the bear with balloon for my card. I used double sided foam tape to affix it and I love the way it pops off the front of the card.
