ELLEN HUTSON - AUGUST ESSENTIALS CHALLENGE

I recently discovered this company and line of stamps and immediately fell in love with the Leading Ladies range of stamps. They are so cool and have so many great accessories to add to card projects. I played along with this month's Challenge on the Ellen Hutson blog which was to create a project using alcohol inks. This was truly a challenge for me as I haven't used alcohol inks before and only recently purchased some. Well now I'm well and truly hooked!! I love the awesome effects you can create with these inks and it's so amazing to watch the inks "dance" on the paper right in front of your eyes!

This is my card project for the challenge:

On a piece of Yupo paper I created a gorgeous background using Ranger honeycomb, poppyfield and botanical alcohol inks.

How awesome does this look? Using Poppy Crafts nesting heart dies I cut a heart shape for my card front. I also used the Ellen Hutson City Lady stamp set for this project and coloured her in with copic markers then fussy cut the images.

Now to assemble the card, I cut a matching heart shape out of a blank white card front and attached it to the card base making sure to correctly match the alcohol ink heart shape I previously cut. I then attached the city lady and her bouquet of flowers was affixed with some double sided foam tape for a bit of dimension. Lastly, I cut the sentiment from some glitter card stock using Paper Rose Best Wishes dies and attached it to the card front.

I really love the end result and the way the heart is the feature of my card.

Thanks for stopping by!
